Hardware

In this course we do training and coding on an embedded system which is targeted interfacing to the real world.

We have decided to use an Ardunio based on the MEGA architecture

Some of you are very experienced in Arduinos - others not - so let's all help each other.

  • Its easy to use so we can have focus on teh course stuff

  • Cheap :-)

We suggest an Arduino MEGA or an Arduino UNO and maybe a sensor package

NB: WE will not use all sensors in the sensor kits given below but the price is so low so better buy a kit and have a box for the sensors

MEGA UNO
memory 8 kB 2 kB (RAM)
flash 256 kB 32 kB (for program code)
serial ports 4 1 (for communication)
MHz 16 16 (speed)

Some images giving pin configuration here.

you can also use ESP32, M5Stack but the course then you are little bit more on your own.

ESP32 or M5Stack can have som advantages because they have blutetooth and wifi

Where to buy

Some links.
You might find large differences in prices… so beware

Where at what to buy of sensors and actuators

You can buy a sensor kit like this one or this one

Then you need some jumper wired and some breadboard

A mini breadboard. Dont buy it too small

and jumper wires.
